Hey, guys! Welcome back to my amazing Phlebotomy job resource guide! First off CONGRATULATIONS ON BECOMING A PHLEBOTOMIST!! Don’t Stop at a certificate GO THE DISTANCE! Get nationally certified it can make a huge pay difference

Today, I want to share some comical and interactive tips on how to get a job as a phlebotomist, even with little to no experience. Buckle up and get ready for some laughs and valuable advice!

1. The Power of a Pretty Resume:

First things first, make your resume shine! Don't settle for a dull and gap-ish document. Spice it up with all the juicy details: your certifications, internship experience, volunteer work, and even references from your teachers. Remember, a visually appealing resume catches the eye, so go for a fancy layout with lines and dots. Ask friends or family members skilled in resume-making for some help if needed. USE YOUR CLINICAL EXPERIENCE IT COUNTS! If you are looking to travel recent experience is a requirement due to the facilities inability to train the traveler. Most agencies require at least 1 year of recent hospital experience. Choose your words carefully! Always match the job requirements for the job you are applying for. WATCH YOUR SPELLING….. this is very important!

2. Aim for Phlebotomy Jobs that Embrace Beginners:

Don't be afraid to start at jobs that hire both certified and non-certified individuals. And don’t be afraid to apply for the jobs that are not entry level. Have confidence in your skill! Plasma centers and organizations like the American Red Cross and local staffing agencies often provide training opportunities regardless of your certification status. This gives you a foot in the door and a chance to gain valuable experience. Don’t forget it never hurts to get your instructor to write you a letter of recommendation once you complete your course.

3. Emphasize Your Stick Skills:

When it comes to phlebotomy, nothing speaks louder than your stick skills and your success! TOOT YOUR HORN FRIEND PHLEBOTOMY IS A SKILL YOU MASTERED! Highlight the number of finger sticks, injections, and other procedures you've performed during your training. If you've had the chance to practice on real patients, mention that too. It shows potential employers that you have hands-on experience.

4. Don't Forget Your Teachers:

Teachers can be valuable references, especially when it comes to assessing your work ethic and dedication. Include them on your resume and ask for their permission to share their contact information. It's a great way for employers to gain insights into your performance as a student.

5. Be Eager, But Not Greedy:

Employers appreciate candidates who show enthusiasm and eagerness to work. Follow up on your applications and express your interest in joining their team. However, when it comes to salary negotiations, be realistic. As a fresh graduate, be open to their initial offer and use it as a stepping stone. Once you gain more experience, you can negotiate for better compensation.

6. Keep Applying to Hospitals:

While it might be a bit more challenging to land a job at a hospital right after graduation, don't give up on your dream. Continuously apply to hospitals while gaining experience elsewhere. Update your resume regularly with your new stick counts and keep sending it their way. Eventually, your growing experience will catch their attention.

Remember, humor and persistence go hand in hand. Keep a positive attitude, stay focused, and don't be discouraged by rejection. Phlebotomy is an exciting field, and with the right approach, you'll be on your way to a successful career!

Until next time I wish you all the best! I hope this comical and interactive blog post has provided you with some valuable tips on how to land your first phlebotomy job. Remember, keep those sticks on your resume and keep reaching for the stars! Stay tuned for more educational and informative content. See you next time!
